[Visper:] Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to a little show we like to call "Outbreak"--
[Jr.:] EVOLUTION!! YEAH!!! HAH!
[Visper:] Er... Yeah. I was just about to say that. How nice. Anyway, ladies and gents, we have a special episode of Outbreak here. The first of two, actually. Starting tonight is the Outbreak: Evolution Light-Heavyweight Tournament! We've got competitors from all over the continent, and they'll all be vying for a shot at the NDP Light-Heavyweight Championship at the Evolution.R Superdupermegacard!!
[Jr.:] I don't think that's a word.
[Visper:] Nobody pays you to think.
[Jr.:] Hey! You're right! I'm getting ripped off!
[Visper:] ... Guh. -shakes head- Anyway. Tonight kicks off wit--
Shocknina's Woman's Cry hits the PA system.
[Visper:] Oh, Christ. Why, God, why?
Colleen comes out, Zachary Valentine close behind, and she storms the ring, mic in hand.
[Colleen:] I have something that I would like to say!
[Visper:] There's a surprise.
The crowd knows what's coming and boos apporpriately, along with a couple screams of "Go the fuck away!" from the audience.
[Colleen:] Although I might not have been given a chance to stop Matt Shane from retaining the NDP Championship at FORSAKEN, I would like to say that I'm glad he retained.
Mixed crowd reaction.
[Colleen:] I'm glad he retained, so that he can bring his ass down here face me, one-on-one, for the NDP Championship, right now!
Colleen stands with her arms crossed, staring down the entrance ramp, waiting. After a moment, Rocket Science hits the PA and bossmoto makes his way into the ring.
[motosada:] Colleen, look. I know that you feel screwed out of the NDP Championship Match, simply because you didn't win. An--
Colleen tries to interrupt, but moto quiets her quickly.
[motosada:] Listen. This isn't the time. This, right now, is time for the Outbreak:Evolution Tournament, something you chose not to be part of. Your issue regarding the NDP Championship can wait. And it will wait, until Maelstrom, okay?
Colleen looks less than happy at the statement - like that's a shocker - and storms out of the ring, damn near throwing a temper tantrum on the way.
[Visper:] Well, that was over fairly painlessly.
[Jr.:] Yep.
[Visper:] So, let's start! Tonight's first match features two international senstations in professional wrestling! K-Blade, the lucha libre wonder from CMLL in Mexico has been making waves down there since first appearing over a year ago. Using a style that's far more suplex-oriented than most female lucha has certainly helped her carve out a name for herself, as well as an array of death-defying moves and the trademark crazy submissions inherient in lucha libre.
[Jr.:] Her opponent is Yoyo Banzai from OG-Joshi, a young lady from Japan who has gained quite a bit of popularity recently by having a lot of great matches in OG-Joshi. She's carving quite a reputation for herself as being very hard-hitting and very resiliant.
[Visper:] We're gonna take a quick look at these two competitors in our Tale of the Tape.
K-Blade
Representing: Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (Mexico)
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 132 lbs.
Finishing Move: High Bridge German Suplex, "Intervención Divina"
Yoyo Banzai
Representing: OG-Joshi - Fantasy Women's Prowrestling
Height: 5' 2"
Weight: 126 lbs.
Finishing Move: Corkscrew Moonsault, "Moltov Cocktail"
<<Outbreak: Evolution Light-Heavyweight Tournament - Round 1>>
(O)K-Blade vs Yoyo Banzai (X)
Clutch Pin, 13:30
K-Blade and Yoyo took right to each other and got pretty heated. They traded headbutts, slaps, and chops in the opening minutes, and Yoyo took early control with a series of neckbreakers. K-Blade came back with a flurry of quick moves and kicks, appearing to focus on the knee of Yoyo, even using a Russian legsweep on the leg of Yoyo Banzai!
The pace would quicken about seven minutes in, as the lucha sensation K-Blade started flying. A springboard plancha to the outside got the crowd way behind K-Blade, and the two would continue to thrash one another inside and outside of the ring. Yoyo started headbutting K-Blade left and right, and K-Blade responded with lighting-quick flash pins. The end came when Yoyo took to the ropes for a lariat and K-Blade ducked under to roll Yoyo forward with a very interesting clutch pin.
[Visper:] What a finish! Yoyo got snatched up by that clutch pin and didn't even realize it until after the match was over!
[Jr.:] That was so quick, I didn't even see it happen! I thought for sure that Yoyo was gonna lay K-Blade out with that lariat!
--Commercial break--
[Visper:] Up next in the Outbreak:Evolution Tournament is a face that should be very familiar to those of you who watch NDP. Princess Aika, after what turns out was a bad count on the part of the referee during her Light-Heavyweight Championship match at FORSAKEN, heads into this tournament with something to prove. She lost at FORSAKEN, but if she wins this tournament, she'll have a chance at becoming NDP Light-Heavyweight Champion at a much, much larger stage!
[Jr.:] Management has said that due to the referee's call, they're going to grant Princess Aika a rematch some time in the future. But, if she can pull off a few victories during this tournament and another one at Evolution.R, she won't really be needing it, yanno?
[Visper:] Princess Aika's opponent in this match comes to us from PW-WHAT. 50CENTAVOS has fashioned himself as the Mexican 50 Cent, and goes to great lengths to pull that off, going so far as to come to the ring in bulletproof vests, accompanied by his own G-Unit - Gambero Unit, in this case.
50CENTAVOS
Representing: PW-WHAT
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 194 lbs.
Finishing Move: Running STO Bomber, "9mm"
Princess Aika
Representing: New Damage Prowrestling
Height: 5' 2"
Weight: 120 lbs.
Finishing Move: Diving Enzui Knee Drop, "Flash Magic"
<<Outbreak: Evolution Light-Heavyweight Tournament - Round 1>>
(O)50CENTAVOS (w/ Gambero Unit) vs Princess Aika (w/ Flash Senshi) (X)
9mm -> Pin, 16:13
50CENTAVOS and Princess Aika were evenly-matched through the entire match, going move-for-move until about twelve minutes in when Princess Aika ducked out of the way of a 50CENTAVOS springboard hurricanrana and locked in an STF, FIDDY barely getting to the ropes and tossing Princess Aika to Gambero Unit on the outside, where the three worked over Princess Aika pretty badly. After G-Unit finished and rolled her back inside, 50CENTAVOS merely picked her apart, finishing off the job with his 9mm STO.
[Jr.:] BAH GAWD! PRINCESS AIKA GETTING A TASTE OF HER OWN MEDICINE!!
[Visper:] Indeed. 50CENTAVOS certainly owes this one to Gambero Unit. Princess Aika was just about to head into the driver's seat in this match, but the distraction from 50 allowed G-Unit to absolutely pummel Princess Aika, leaving the scraps for 50 to clean up.
--Commercial break--
[Visper:] Our next match is between the two largest competitors in the tournament, the extremely unpredictable Hellkat from Fire Pro National and the young lion from Pro-Wrestling WILD, Paradigm.
[Jr.:] She's... a kitty.
[Visper:] Or just taken one too many chairshots. FPN's got a lot of weird ones on their roster. Tho, I guess we can't talk that much; we've got our fair share of Production I.G rip-offs.
[Jr.:] Whowa?
[Visper:] Nevermind. Let's just go to the Tale of the Tape.
Hellkat
Representing: Fire Pro National
Height: 6' 3"
Weight: 195 lbs.
Finishing Move: Cobra Clutch Suplex, "Darkest Hour"
Paradigm
Representing: Pro-Wrestling WILD
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 200 lbs.
Finishing Move: Cradle Piledriver
<<Outbreak: Evolution Light-Heavyweight Tournament - Round 1>>
(X)Hellkat vs Paradigm (O)
Front Choke Sleeper, 21:18
This one started off slow, with Paradigm using a very careful mindframe against the unpredictable Hellkat. Nonetheless, Hellkat sunk her claws and teeth into Paradigm early, and the pace picked up considerably, with Hellkat taking control with a couple quick pin attempts. Paradigm got up to speed shortly after, fighting Hellkat off with a very stiff technical style. After a few minutes, the match slowed back down, but both competitors started pulling out the bigger arsenals, and both even trying to choke the other out. Hellkat nearly succeeded with her Wrathscorn Combo; a Yokosuka Cutter into a very bizarre and twisted Crossface, but Paradigm was close enough to the ropes to get a break. Hellkat got caught, though, when she went for her Cobra Clutch Suplex finisher; Paradigm used his free arm to get out of the Cobra Clutch and lock in a front choke sleeper for the submission victory.
[Visper:] And Paradigm with the guillotine choke for the win. Hellkat almost had him there, but quick thinking from Paradigm helps him pick up the win and proceed to the next round of the Outbreak: Evolution Light-Heavyweight Tournament.
--Commercial break--
[Visper:] And now, it's time for our main event. We know that one of the competitors is Lucky Lupe from LAWL, but we still don't know who her opponent will be.
[Jr.:] And that's got to be stressing for Lupe, who hasn't had an opportunity to prepare for her match. We're all waiting to see who it's going to be, though.
The Redhead Kelly by Thee Michelle Gun Elephant hits the PA system.
[Visper:] Holy crap! Is that--?!?
[Jr.:] I think it is!
Akira Blaze enters the arena, NDP Championship around her waist.
[Jr.:] Is Akira Blaze Lucky Lupe's opponent? Is in this tournament? That's crazy talk!
Akira enters the ring, and is handed a mic from a ringside hand.
[Akira:] I would like to announce that I am the last entrant in the Outbreak: Evolution Light-Heavyweight Tournament. And more than that, as I will be defending the NDP Light-Heavyweight Championship in every tournament match I am in!
[Visper:] Wow! What a declairation from Akira Blaze! She must certainly plan on defending the Light-Heavyweight Championship at Evolution.R!
[Jr.:] So, if Lucky Lupe beats Akira, does that mean Lucky Lupe is the new NDP Light-Heavyweight Champion?
[Visper:] It certainly does!
Lucky Lupe
Representing: Los Angeles Woman's Lucha
Height: 5' 4"
Weight: 126 lbs.
Finishing Move: Shining Enzuigiri, "Lucky Strike"
Akira Blaze
Representing: New Damage Prowrestling - Defending NDP Light-Heavyweight Champion
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 165 lbs.
Finishing Move: Backdrop Driver, "Deadly Heat"
<< Light-Heavyweight Championship Singles Match
Outbreak: Evolution Light-Heavyweight Tournament - Round 1>>
(X)Lucky Lupe vs. Akira Blaze (O)
Hurricanrana Reversal Powerbomb Pin, 22:19
Lucky Lupe and the Light-Heavyweight Champion herself went full-bore in this one. Starting off with a nicely-paced showcase of chain-wrestling, the two traded arm drags, snapmares, fireman's carries, frankensteiner whips, armbreakers - everything! They didn't take a bunch of breaks to soak up crowd adulation, either: they kept at it for damn near FIVE MINUTES before pausing, building the pace the entire time.
When push finally came to shove, Akira showed why she is truly a fighting champion, battering Lupe with suplexes and chops. Lupe proved to be no slouch, and fought back with chops, slaps, and even a very twirly backdrop, sprinkled with a couple roll-ups to keep Akira on her toes. Lupe thought she had the match won after the Lucky Strike lead to a Twist of Fate, but Akira powered out at two! Lupe would take to the air after that, trying to keep the Champ down, but even a springboard hurricanrana and a corkscrew shooting star press couldn't get the win. Lupe went to the well one time too many, though, and a top-rope diving hurricanrana was turned into a huge powerbomb from Blaze for the 3.
[Visper:] And Akira Blaze not only retains the NDP Light-Heavyweight Championship by defeating Lucky Lupe, but also moves one step closer to Evolution.R!
[Jr.:] That powerbomb was very reminiscent of the one she used against Princess Aika at FORSAKEN to retain the Light-Heavyweight Championship, and it just goes to show that Akira is not one to be taken lightly, as she can get through these quick-paced matches on sheer power alone!
[Visper:] The matches for the second half of the Outbreak: Evolution Tournament are set, with PW-WHAT vs PW-WILD as 50CENTAVOS will take on Paradigm, and CMLL's K-Blade will be challenging Akira Blaze!
[Jr.:] Well, if Akira Blaze wins her match, what does that mean for the finals?
[Visper:] Well, Akira Blaze can't face herself at Evolution.R, so I'm sure that means the Outbreak: Evolution Tournamet final will be at Evolution.R!
