The sounds of Baxter's Television greet you to the final New Damage Prowrestling DamageCast before Ascension!
DamageCast #14
The Path of Ascension
The scene opens to the DamageCast studio, Miles Bell behind the podium and ready for the show!
[Miles:] Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the DamageCast studio for our last DamageCast before the huge upcoming SuperCard Event, Ascension! Now, our last show had a bit of information regarding how important the last Maelstrom was heading into Ascension, but now we're going to talk about the Ascension SuperCard Event itself. And to do that, we have none other than the boss himself, Mr. Paul, in the DamageCast studio! Mr. Paul?
NDP's illustrious leader steps on-screen on the (camera) right side of the podium.
[Mr. Paul:] Hello, audience! How ya doin', Miles?
[Miles:] Good. I'm good. Excited about Ascension. I can't wait!
[Mr. Paul:] I know. It's very exciting!
[Miles:] Now, Mr. Paul, I understand that, along with the rest of the matches already set, you have some surprises to announce for our DamageCast audience.
[Mr. Paul:] Indeed I do. But we'll get to that later. Let's talk about some of the matches that are already on the horizon for Ascension, including one I'm looking quite forward to; ARMADA vs the Sin-Bound, Mr. E, and their mystery partner.
[Miles:] Yes, that should certainly be an amazing, brutal match. But, wait. Is that confirmation that they've found a partner?
[Mr. Paul:] I said nothin'. But, just consider the connections that Kazen and Tani have in the wrestling world. They entered professional wrestling here in NDP under the guidance of Jo Ryder, and she's people that know people. The Light-Heavyweight Champion and Tani have a very big Rolodex of names they could call up. It could be just about anyone!
[Miles:] Well, this is just one more reason to look forward to that match!
[Mr. Paul:] Make no mistake, though; whoever their mystery partner ends up being, that doesn't exactly mean that it'll turn the tide in the Sin-Bound's favor. Kazen, Tani, Mr. E, and their mystery partner will still have to deal with ARMADA, and ARMADA is still an incredibly tough team, and they have enough sheer skill to overcome almost any challenge. They've developed quite well over the last few years, and with the addition of their newest member, Ivan Vigoro, they've brought in enough muscle to cover, basically, all of their bases.
[Miles:] Absolutely. And as anyone watching their exploits in the UBL would note, ARMADA has really become a cohesive unit in the past year, and even the man that most considered to be their weakest link, Ryan Ramirez, has been able to make some astonishing performances and go beyond what even his comrades felt he was capable of.
[Mr. Paul:] That young man Kazen might've shocked the world by beating 50CENTAVOS for the Light-Heavyweight Championship back during the "New Year, No Limits" tour, but I would have to say that Ascension will be a very tough night for the young man. Perhaps the most trying of his entire career.
[Miles:] And speaking of 50CENTAVOS, we saw at Maelstrom that his Gambero Unit has picked up a new member! Do you have any news for us regarding this mystery man?
[Mr. Paul:] Ah, that I might! The man's name is TAURUS, and he's been hand-picked by 50CENTAVOS to come to New Damage Prowrestling. I guess, after losing the Light-Heavyweight Championship, 50CENTAVOS wanted to pursue the forthcoming NDP Trios Tag Championships, so he got himself a third man to be able to enter the tournament.
I've seen a bit of footage of TAURUS in action, and he's a rather nasty character. They call him the "Wicked Man from Indonesia", and he has a background in Muay Thai kickboxing, so expect him to be throwing around a lot of nasty knees to the unfortunate faces of his opponents.
[Miles:] I guess Princess Aika and Akira Blaze should be glad their match is just a tag match then, and not a Trios match.
[Mr. Paul:] Absolutely. Not that I think Toby Yoyo will be much easier for them to deal with. But, Princess Aika and especially Akira Blaze are two extremely talented competitors; if anyone in NDP is up to the challenge, it's those two.
[Miles:] If they can work together.
[Mr. Paul:] If they can work together.
[Miles:] And while on the subject of talented competitors that can't seem to get along, how about that steel cage match between Kaori NiGHT and Holly Walker?
[Mr. Paul:] That will be a huge match to be sure. We had to go and dig the steel cage out of storage for this one, which hasn't been used since, what? The ReDeeMeR SuperCard Event? These two absolutely hate each other, and there is a lot on the line here in this match.
[Miles:] Now, for people who may not be aware, how exactly is this steel cage match going to operate?
[Mr. Paul:] We're kind of different in how we run steel cage matches. Most of the time, if you can escape the cage, and your feet touch the floor before your opponent, you win! But, that's dumb. The whole point of a steel cage is to keep the opponents inside, so that they have to beat the crap out of each other for our enjoyment. They can't run away. They either beat their opponent or they lose. Pinfall, submission, or knock-out only. And if they get out of the cage, well, that match is going to end inside the ring one way or another.
Plus, it's also helpful to keep Holly Walker locked away where any of the various psychopaths that want her dead can't get to her.
[Miles:] Holly probably does need to be kept separate from the public.
[Mr. Paul:] And since we're talking about people that are separate from the public, I understand you recently spoke to the New Damage Prowrestling Champion, "The Living Venus" Colleen. How fun was that for ya?
[Miles:] I... actually never made it past Zachary Valentine, who would only tell me that Colleen has a new workout routine that's been designed to greatly increase her strength. Zachary Valentine told me that she's up to pressing over 250 lbs.!
[Mr. Paul:] Well, that's very impressive. And with Ascension still a bit of time away, that could increase greatly! That should really add a new dimension to her already impressive abilities, and of course to her Championship defense at Ascension, against two great competitors.
[Miles:] Absolutely true. Colleen's giving up height and weight to her opponents in this match, but that's nothing really new to her. But her opponents are both competitors that have given her problems in the past. Matt Shane defeated her a few times on his way to becoming NDP Champion at SuperKickFest'04, until Colleen was able to beat him at Tribulation for the Championship. She also defeated him a short while ago on Maelstrom, but she wasn't able to defeat Jason Wesley, who hasn't tangled up with Colleen much before that.
[Mr. Paul:] And as if Colleen didn't already have her work cut out for her, she also has to keep in mind that she doesn't even need to be part of the equation to lose her title; Matt Shane could pin Jason Wesley to regain the title, and Colleen could be leaving the Nameless Municipal Arena without that precious Championship! And, man, we'd never hear the end of it!
[Miles:] Oh, man. Ain't that the truth?
[Mr. Paul:] Well, before we talk about any of my surprise announcements, how about we head back to the NDP Arena for our exclusive DamageCast match?
[Miles:] That sounds like a great idea! Let's go to the ring!
-- From the Nameless Municipal Arena --
[Miles:] Welcome again, ladies and gentlemen, to the Nameless Municipal Arena here in what I'm sure is a rainy and depressing Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! I'm Miles Bell, and sitting next to me is--
[Jr.:] I'M INTERRUPTING!
[Miles:] ...
[Jr.:] See, it's funny cuz--
[Miles:] It wasn't funny the first time, Lann! And it's not funny this time! Knock it off, or you're going back into your cage!
[Jr.:] Aww.... Oooookay.
[Miles:] Anyway, we have a nasty little match coming up just for you, our DamageCast audience, as the Midnite Rave will be facing off against the violently beautiful Roselyn Pride and her giant-teddy-bear-outfit-wearing-boy-toy, Trent "Trauma" Kasta!
[Jr.:] Why is Roselyn always wrestling these Midnite Rave folks?
[Miles:] Maybe she really hates techno music and bright, flashing lights?
[Jr.:] Or maybe our booking team has had to resort to flipping coins to determine matches, and Roselyn always gets the bad flips!
[Miles:] ... Nah, that's stupid. You're stupid. Stupid.
<<Tag Team Match>>
[E-rol and Pixi Stik (w/ Special K)]
vs.
Roselyn Pride
and
Trent "Trauma" Kasta
[Referee:] Christopher Speil
Roselyn and the aquamarine-colored E-rol get things started, and it's... mostly Roselyn doing the starting. E-rol is being blasted left-and-right here by Pride, and she's rocking him with knees and some nasty open-palmed shots to the face. Roselyn with a go-behind, German suplex-- no, E-rol flips out of it and lands on his feet and smashes Roselyn with a flying wheel kick! Suplex from E-rol, he takes to the ropes, and as Roselyn gets back up, E-rol with a freakin' londart kangaroo kick! Craziness! We're seeing some of E-rol's arsenal here, and it seems to mostly be flippy and/or spinny! Roselyn's going for her corner, I guess she's done here for now, but E-rol's not letting her; E-rol with a body slam, but Roselyn starts biting E-rol in the side! E-rol drops Roselyn, and Roselyn starts biting E-rol's face! E-rol pulls away, falling into a corner, as Roselyn tags in Trent Kasta.
And it's about now that E-rol discovers he fell into the red corner! Enemy territory! Danger, E-rol Robinson! Danger! Too late for all that, though, as E-rol is getting kicked in the face from Kasta's big bear-paw shoes until the referee finally makes Trauma let E-rol up. E-rol goes for the tag out to Pixi Stik, but Kasta stops him with a nasty neckbreaker. Sleeper from Kasta, and it's Pixi that saves E-rol with a big dropkick! Kasta down, and Pixi and E-rol with a tandem senton splash, and both are back up for tandem standing moonsaults! Double team suplex from the Midnite Rave, and as the referee tries to get Pixi back in the corner, Special K is up on the apron, trying to get into the ring! Chris Speil leaves Pixi Stik to double team Kasta while trying to keep Special K out of the ring, and the other Ravers take full advantage of it by just hammering Kasta and keeping him in pain. The referee finally gets sick of Special K and shoves him off the apron, just in time to see Pixi Stik with Trent Kasta's teddy bear head in her hands and trying to crown Kasta with it! The referee stops her, rips the teddy bear head out of her hands, and tells her to get her ass on the apron! Meanwhile, Kasta has broken free of E-rol's grip and kicks E-rol right in the freakin' jaw, dropping E-rol like a ton of bricks! Trent covers, but only gets a two-count, so he tags in Roselyn!
And she goes freaking ape-shit on E-rol! She stomps on his head, then as he's trying to get back up, she gives him a running knee to the face and then kicks him in the face some more! And then she suplexes Pixi Stik into the ring and stomps at her head! E-rol gets back up as Roselyn is trying to freaking maul Pixi, and E-rol with the save, giving Roselyn a kick to the head of his own, but Roselyn just gets up and gives him a flying wheel kick! And then an open-palm uppercut, and then another open-palm punch to the back of E-rol's head! Reverse facebuster from Pride, and a series of more open-palmed punches, and then a nasty German suplex that just plants E-rol! Roselyn's in some crazy kinda blood-lust, and she just yanks Pixi to her feet and tosses her out of the ring, right into Special K on the outside, and there's E-rol back to his feet-- Summon Suffering! E-rol's locked in for a moment, trying to fight it, but he taps out like there's a prize waiting for him!
Roselyn Pride wins by submission
Time: 7:29
[Miles:] Man, oh man! She might scare the crap out of me, but I don't think I could ever get tired of watching Roselyn Pride do that to people!
[Jr.:] No kidding there! Roselyn Pride's the reason I sleep with the lights on at home, but watching the woman work can be, well, beautifully violent, like you said earlier.
[Miles:] And that's gonna do it for us, ladies and gents! We'll see you on the next DamageCast with another exclusive match; this time from the Ascension SuperCard Event!
-- Back to the DamageCast Studio --
[Miles:] Welcome back, once again, ladies and gentlemen. So! Announcements! Surprises! Make with 'em!
[Mr. Paul:] Well, the first announcement could be a disappointing one to some of our fans; the scheduled submission match between Jakob Furis and Evan Divine has been removed from the card. I didn't want to, but, anyone who has been watching UBL or some of its partner promotions has to've seen that Jakob Furis' behavior has been... erratic and incredibly dangerous for the past few months. Not just to his opponents or other wrestlers, but to fans as well. Plus, Furis was kind of a joke wrestler anyway, tossed onto a card for a couple comedy spots and that's it, so it really doesn't seem like that big a loss.
[Miles:] Well, that's good news for us, but what about Evan Divine? Is Furis going all weird-crazy-angry going to cost Divine a spot on the card?
[Mr. Paul:] No. We have found a replacement for Furis. We managed to borrow a man you would also be familiar with if you watch UBL; the Four Corners Professional Wrestling North American Heavyweight Champion (man, that's a mouth-full!), Mike Gainer.
[Miles:] Well, that's fantastic news! Mike Gainer is a great athlete! I'd call that an upgrade either which way you cut it!
[Mr. Paul:] Absolutely. We're going to be very honored to have the current 4CPW North American Heavyweight Champion debuting for New Damage Prowrestling at Ascension. And we're going to have another debut at Ascension; a female masked luchadore wrestler that's been gaining some incredible popularity in Mexico, and has been waiting for an opportunity to come to the States. Her name is "Diosa Feroz", and her debut at Ascension will be against the very best welcoming party in the whole wide world; Roselyn Pride!
[Miles:] Oh, wow! But Roselyn Pride has been on a pretty vicious streak lately! We just saw evidence of that earlier in the DamageCast! Do you really think it's a good idea to send a new NDP star into the lion's den like that?
[Mr. Paul:] Absolutely. Aside from the fact that any doofus could tell I was being really incredibly sarcastic there, if Diosa Feroz really wants to prove herself to a larger audience and a brand new talent pool, she'll either put on a great match or she'll get mauled by Pride.
[Miles:] That's a hell of a litmus test, don't ya think?
[Mr. Paul:] That's how we roll, Bell. But wait, there's more! I made a quick mention earlier that there was a lot on the line in the Steel Cage match between Kaori NiGHT and Holly Walker, right? Well, it won't just be egos; the winner will find themselves getting a shot at the Light-Heavyweight Championship later on in the night!
[Miles:] What what waitwhat?! Kaori NiGHT or Holly Walker will be challenging Kazen for the NDP Light-Heavyweight Championship, at Ascension, after already having competed in a Steel Cage match?!
[Mr. Paul:] Well, Kazen'll have had that big tag match, too, you know? Plus, NDP only has two Championships; having only one of them defended at a big event like a SuperCard Event is kinda... lame. I just wish I'd have noticed how far up on the Light-Heavyweight Championship Rankings board that both Kaori NiGHT and Robin Walker were. I might've had the idea sooner!
[Miles:] That's phenomenal news, and a phenomenal opportunity for Kaori NiGHT and Holly Walker! And quite an incentive to get a great match out of the two of them! It certainly might end up being the longest night of Kazen's career after all!
[Mr. Paul:] Oh, my, yes. Ascension is going to be a hell of a show, and a hell of a night for some of our competitors. Two Championship matches, two debuts, a 15-foot-tall steel cage, all sorts of big tag team matches; it's going to be amazing, and I hope to see you all there.
[Miles:] Absolutely! Mr. Paul, thank you very much for stopping in to give us some fantastic news heading into Ascension about some great new matches we can look forward to! To our wonderful audience, thank you for coming by and seeing us today, and we hope to see you soon at Ascension! Have a wonderful 2010, and we'll see you soon!
[Mr. Paul:] Oh, and Outbreak has been canceled. Peace!
[Miles:] ... WHAT?!?
Fade out as the NDP Signature begins to play to the video's end.
