The sounds of Baxter's Television greets you to the first New Damage Prowrestling DamageCast in quite some time!
DamageCast #13
After the Storm
The scene opens to the DamageCast studio, Miles Bell ready for the show!
[Miles:] Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to another issue of the DamageCast. We're hot off the heels of an explosive Maelstrom, and we're heading full steam ahead into our biggest SuperCard Event of all time; Ascension!
Now, the last Maelstrom saw a huge six-person tag match with tons of implications for matches at Ascension. The team of NDP Champion "The Living Venus" Colleen, Matt Shane, and Mr. E took on the reunited Upper Class Connection of Jason Wesley and Chapel Hillcrest and the MDWF Champion Gene Starr, with a stipulation in place that stated if any member of any team attacked their teammates, they would instantly forfeit their upcoming match at Ascension. The atmosphere for this match was incredibly tense, but amazingly, everyone involved managed to stay mostly focused on the match. Until it was over, of course.
Despite their history, Colleen and Matt Shane managed to keep things together during the main event. Even Gene Starr and Chapel Hillcrest, who are also due to have a big match at Ascension, worked together to try and win the match. But as soon as the match was over, it was the NDP Champion having her hand held high, and everything went to hell. Matt Shane tried to get a shot in, a superkick that Colleen ducked under and hit our lead referee, Frederick Awale, but then Colleen went to work and used a set of brass knuckles to take Matt Shane to the mat! It was incredibly crazy how fast the end went down, but in the end, it was the NDP Champion standing tall over ally and enemy alike.
But, that wasn't the only crazy thing that happened on Maelstrom, no sir. What started off as a normal tag team match between the alliance of Princess Aika and former NDP Light-Heavyweight Champion Akira Blaze against the Sin-Bound team of current NDP Light-Heavyweight Champion Kazen and Tani ended up as a huge eight-person tag match prelude to Ascension; the match was interrupted by ARMADA, and then Mr. E, and then the Gambero Unit, and we ended up having Kazen, Mr. E, Princess Aika, and Akira Blaze up against Adam Galcian, Ryan Ramirez, Erica Belleza, and 50CENTAVOS. And it was sheer chaos. An excellent match to be sure, but when the dust finally settled, the Light-Heavyweight Champion had picked up the win, but Kazen, Tani, Princess Aika, Akira Blaze, and Mr. E all found themselves decimated by ARMADA and the Gambero Unit - which included a new member that, frankly, we know jack squat about!
It was, indeed, a huge Maelstrom with a lot of implications heading into the Ascension SuperCard Event. But now, we're going to take you back to Maelstrom for our exclusive DamageCast match-up. We have Victor Harris, a man we're seeing start to dig himself up from the bottom of the Championship Rankings, against the leader of the Midnite Rave, the man known as Special K.
-- From the Nameless Municipal Arena --
[Miles:] Welcome back to the Nameless Municipal Arena, ladies and gentlemen! I'm Miles Bell, and--
[Jr.:] I'm interrupting!
[Miles:] Yes.
[Jr.:] Why aren't you laughing? That was funny! You were gonna say my name, but I interrupted as if I were going to say it for you, but instead I said "I'm interrupting", like "Interrupting" was my name!
[Miles:] It wasn't funny. And jokes are never funny if you have to explain them.
[Jr.:] You just don't have a sense of humor.
[Miles:] I also don't seem to be able to understand how Visper didn't turn to drinking.
While those jerks are being jerks, the body-painted Midnite Rave has made their way down to the ring, and the crowd just does not like these kids. Or techno. Or both! But at least they get a reaction; Victor Harris comes to the ring largely unnoticed by the crowd. There are a few cheers here or there, but for the most part, Harris might as well be wearing an invisibility cloak.
<<Singles Match>>
Victor Harris
vs.
Special K (w/ E-rol and Pixi Stik)
[Referee:] Joe Brown
Harris and Special K circle the ring a couple times to size each other up, collar-and-elbow tie-up in the middle of the ring, both men struggle to gain ground but the tie-up breaks. The two cycle again, another tie-up, another break. Harris with a chop, Special K with a chop and a slap, Special K with a headlock but Harris with a nice backdrop! Both men back up, Harris with a big running elbow to Special K, follows with a series of body blows, and Harris locks on a JUST facelock, but lets go after a few moments to hop to his feet and kick Special in the head. Harris with a Canadian backbreaker! Harris throws K down, but K gets to his feet and locks in an abdominal stretch, keeping it locked in and applying pressure to Harris' neck, even grabbing the ropes to gain pressure to the move until the referee spots him and throws K off of Harris! Harris in the corner, Special K rushes in and Harris moves out of the way and clobbers Special K with a forearm before running him across the ring to smash K with another big jumping forearm! Harris with a powerbomb, and a near-fall!
Special K starts fighting back with some punches and kicks, but Harris just brushes them off and takes K to the ropes with punches of his own, Irish whip from Harris and a big lariat flattens Special K! Harris is like a man possessed! Running elbow drop from Harris, another big lariat, Rose Whip [British Fall]! Harris covers; one, two, three!
Victor Harris wins by pinfall
Time: 10:41
[Miles:] And Victor Harris is the, well, the victor tonight!
[Jr.:] See, now that's funny because he was the victor, and his name is also "Victor"!
[Miles:] All I see is a beautiful bottle of single-malt scotch just waiting for me in my hotel room.
[Jr.:] Those mini-bars are expensive! Be careful!
[Miles:] My future alcoholism aside, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us on DamageCast #13! We'll be back soon with #14, and a big look at the upcoming Ascension SuperCard Event, plus another DamageCast exclusive match!
[Jr.:] We'll see ya then! Buh-bye!
[Miles:] Buh-bye now!
Fade out as the NDP Signature begins to play to the video's end.
