New Year, No Limits Night 2
January 3, 2009
Allentown Sports & Entertainment Arena, Allentown, PA
New Damage Prowrestling's "New Year, No Limits" tour hit Allentown with some big changes made to the originally scheduled card. Neither Gene Starr nor Mr. E would be making their matches tonight (against Matt Shane and Chapel Hillcrest respectively) due to the beatings they gave each other in Harrisburg the night before. Matt Shane would be taking on ARMADA's Adam Galcian and Chapel would also be taking on a member of ARMADA; Ivan Vigoro. In addition, the new NDP Light-Heavyweight Champion Kazen's match against Paradigm would be changed; Paradigm will be taking on 50CENTAVOS in a defacto #1 Contender's Match for the Light-Heavyweight Championship (to determine who will face Kazen at January 4th's "New Year, No Limits" tour finale show in the Wachovia Arena in Scranton), and Kazen will be defending the Light-Heavyweight Championship against 50CENTAVOS' original opponent for tonight; OG-Joshi World Champion Holly.
Special K and his weird-colored hair tried to play tough guy against Trent Kasta. Bet you he won't do that again. The match started off pretty well for the assumed leader of the Midnite Rave group (assuming that they have some sort of tiered leadership structure and aren't some kind of anarcho-syndicalist commune, that is,) as he punched and slammed Trauma around, and very rudely slapping Kasta just for kicks before trying for a pin. He then made some motion toward Roselyn, and Roselyn just laughed before Trent introduced Special K to his knees. Repeatedly. All throughout the rest of the match. In his face. If you didn't pick up on that earlier. Special K was still able to get some movement in the match, thanks in part to the other members of Midnite Rave running interference for him and keeping the ref distracted, and this only fueled Trauma's aggression more and more. A nasty DDT laid Special K out in the middle of the ring, and as E-Rol and Pixi Stik tried to come to his rescue, they were cut off at the pass by a wild and damn-near ravenous Roselyn Pride, who chopped them silly and then took them both out over the ropes with lariats, allowing Trent to deliver that nasty Spinal Tap [Jackknife Orange Crush] to Special K, and it was time for Midnite Rave to drop ouuuuuuut.
Trent "Trauma" Kasta (O) vs (X) Special K
16:00, Spinal Tap
The hits just kept coming for Midnite Rave, as just moments following Trent Kasta and Roselyn Pride's departure, Pixi Stik's opponent made the Scene - the perfect person to be summoned to defeat the evil ravers - the Flash Senshi! The Charcoal Lady lead the charge this time, and she quickly made it obvious that she wasn't having any of the Midnite Rave's shenanigans. Pixi Stik responded by slapping Charcoal Lady and then kicking her in the gut, suplexing Charcoal Lady to start the match off! Pixi and Charcoal traded attacks, but a quick series of --- [note:] I somehow lost the rest of the write-up, so... uh... they beat the hell out of each other, Charcoal Lady out-wrestled Pixi, and then punched-and-elbowed her silly, and then finished her with the Sparking!! Kick [Shining Enzuigiri].
The Charcoal Lady (O) vs (X) Pixi Stik
8:59, Sparking!! Kick
Man, this match was bowling shoe ugly. Since we had big unhappy man vs. big unhappy man, we were able to see some aspects of these two that we hadn't seen yet. Vigoro and Chapel roughed each other up big time, resorting less on strikes, surprisingly, and more on wrestling, with each man utilizing stretches (Vigoro favored this neck-wrenching abdominal stretch and a muffler stretch while Chapel utilized a standing crossface quite effectively) and some big suplexes (an overhead belly-to-belly from Chapel caused the ring to shake big-time when Vigoro came crashing down). Both men started getting gassed out, neither obviously anticipating the other putting up much fight, and Vigoro started wrestling, arguably, the smartest here; utilizing repeated back drops and pendulum backbreakers to keep Chapel hurting. The fight ended up going outside the ring after Chapel knocked Vigoro through the ropes with a kenka kick, and Chapel followed the Blue Drake outside, smashing him into the guard rail before digging under the ring to grab a chair and bashing Vigoro with it, causing the referee to immediately call for the bell, as well as serious tensions to rise between the Upper Class Connection and ARMADA.
Chapel Hillcrest (X) vs (O) Ivan Vigoro
16:20, Disqualification
Paradigm, one of the up-and-comers in the Light-Heavyweight Division, got played pretty hard in this match. Really, it's nothing against the kid; he was just up against a man who lost the NDP Championship after a nearly three-year reign, and also just happened to have the ginormous Toby Yoyo in his corner. Paradigm had FIDDY down a few times, but Toby was on the ball the entire match to make sure that Paradigm never got the opportunity that the new NDP Light-Heavyweight Champion, Kazen, got; to pin 50CENTAVOS. In the end, Toby's interference allowed 50CENTAVOS to get in a cheap shot on Paradigm's, erm... "daddy parts" behind the ref's back, leading to a nasty Concussion King Kick, and the win.
50CENTAVOS (O) vs (X) Paradigm
20:10, Concussion King Kick
INTERMISSION - In an "intermission exhibition" match, Nina Edogawa defeated Diva Dynamite with a tiger suplex in 5:34.
Princess Aika came out to the ring alone, a bit unusual since she always seems to be flanked by her magically transformed future daughter from the future, or, whatever the hell her relation to The Charcoal Lady is. Whatever. The less parasol-toting maniacs down by the ring, the better. Evan Divine here, trying to prove that he can beat someone other than Jakob Furis, started off strong, but Princess Aika rolled with the punches, giving Divine very little opportunity to do major damage. Divine did, however, show a knack for keeping himself out of trouble, deflecting Princess Aika's attempt to get him disqualified for a steel chair shot that never happened. Unfortunately, this just opened up Divine for a superkick from Princess Aika, followed up by the Flash Magic, and the pin!
Evan Divine (X) vs (O) Princess Aika

Matt Shane came into this match against some great odds. No, the former NDP Champion didn't seem too worried about Adam Galcian just by himself. No, it was the presence of the entire ARMADA group that gave Matt Shane reason to worry. Matt Shane kept focus, however, and stuck to beating up Galcian as his main focal point of the match. He did a good job of deflecting ARMADA, usually using Galcian himself as a battering ram to knock off any member of the group stupid enough to try and interfere. But, this tactic could only work for so long, and it wasn't long until Galcian's desire to break out of the pack and his followers' desire to help Galcian won began to take a toll on Matt Shane. Galcian would frequently toss Matt out of the ring, and while members of ARMADA would approach, none would lay a hand on Matt; they just wanted to unnerve him. Galcian punished Matt Shane, targeting the back and neck of the former NDP Champion, but Matt Shane showed off his trademark resilience and never caved to the pressure. Matt Shane finally had enough, and after laying Galcian out with the AcuPUNKture, he charged ARMADA's corner, slide-kicking Ramirez into the guard railing, quickly digging under the ring for a chair, and just BLASTING Ivan Vigoro with it. Vigoro crumpled, and Belleza just backed off as Ramirez got a face full of chair, and then Matt went after Belleza, chasing her away from the ring! Matt made his way back to the ring, kicked Galcian in the head, and just as Matt was going to deliver the Punk Buster, Belleza made her return, grabbing the referee's attention as Matt Shane crushed Galcian with the Punk Buster, but... no pin! The referee is arguing with Belleza! Matt got up, trying to shoo the Desert Lynx away, and Belleza timidly scampered off, leaving Matt Shane to turn around into the grip of Adam Galcian and the Rolling Valuan Hell 0 [Spinning Olympic]! Matt tried to fight, but Galcian's bulk and leverage was too much, and Matt Shane ended up passing out from the Valuan Hell!
Adam Galcian (O) vs (X) Matt Shane
21:57, Rolling Valuan Hell 0
Holly Walker walker...d into this match with all the confidence in the world. Which, I mean, isn't that unusual. She's a bitch. Whatever. This time, however, it seemed to be justified. After all, this would've been Kazen's first defense of his newly-won NDP Light-Heavyweight Championship, and he had won it after a grueling match against 50CENTAVOS the day before. Holly, however, was fresh coming into the match (so to speak), and is just overconfident to begin with. Holly started the match off by just slapping and pie-facing Kazen, trying to get under his skin and get him off his game. Unfortunately for Kazen, it started to work. Holly laughed at Kazen's attempts to punch or kick her, and she responded with a slap or a kick of her own. She even gave Kazen a chance to punch her on the chin, and when Kazen took it, Holly backed up, kicked Kazen in the gut, and DDT'd him before posing to the crowd, laughing at Kazen. Realizing he'd just been played a fool, Kazen got back to his feet with a new determination, and the match quickly changed as Kazen went on the attack, catching Holly with strikes that lead into other moves - instead of just punching away, Kazen would quickly follow up with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, or a kick would lead into a double arm suplex or a DDT. Kazen kept ramping the pace up, utilizing the ropes to add force to his attacks, and after a few minutes of this, Holly was ready to call it a night. Kazen chased Holly up the entryway, but the wiley Holly flicked him in the eye and punched him in the throat, causing the Light-Heavyweight Champion to collapse on the entryway, gasping, as Holly went back to the ring to pose for her "adoring" public. Kazen managed to beat the count-out, however, but Holly had him in the palm of her hand again, leading Kazen into little traps so that she could damage or humiliate him. Kazen regained his composure - and his ability to breathe - faster this time around, and the Angel's Arm [Fisherman DDT] almost put Holly away. A bridging exploder suplex also almost did the job, but Holly was able to kick out. Holly managed to get Kazen in the eye again, and she started to go for her awful Muff Driver [Danshoku Driver], but Kazen luckily pulled himself away from the move, catching a surprised Holly with the Black Wings [D-Geist]! Kazen with the pinfall victory!
Holly Walker (X) vs (O) Kazen

Let it never be said that Colleen doesn't learn from her mistakes. For instance, instead of trying the "run away and hope I can get in a lucky (cheap) shot" tactic that she used against Jason Wesley on the last Maelstrom, Colleen went right for the confrontation this time. This honestly must've caught Jason off guard, as Colleen stormed right up to him and decked him in the jaw, and she even telegraphed it with a big wind-up! Jason got rocked, and Colleen didn't let up, utilizing the ropes to add oomph to her strikes, be they punches, kicks, even flying forearms. Jason didn't stay on the receiving end for long, however, and was more than willing to beat Colleen again here before their upcoming matches against each other (on the next Maelstrom and then again at Ascension, naturally), and Jason started putting the boots to Colleen in a pretty handy fashion. A DDT from Colleen gave her a moment to recover, but Jason changed tactics; he started going after Colleen's arm, using wringers and a shoulder stretch. And the tactic paid off; an early Spinning Chamber [R Edge] from the Living Venus had very little impact and Colleen wasn't able to get more than a two-count from it. Colleen tried for the Blackjack [Full Nelson Atomic Bomb], but again couldn't get much of her usual impact out of the move and couldn't put Jason away. Colleen must've decided that what's good for the goose is good for the gander, and she started just punting Jason in the knees. I mean, like, she was kicking the crap out of his freakin' knees here, even tying Jason's legs up in the ropes so that she could get a big running kick in from across the ring, afterward screaming "HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT, DICKBAG?!" or somesuch at Jason as he clutched his legs. Jason must not've liked it very much, as at the first opportunity he got, he threw Colleen into the corner and drilled her in the face with those very same knees. He looked a bit spotty landing, but he was determined to bring the pain and he attempted to powerbomb Colleen, but he couldn't get her lifted until the second attempt, and he brought her down with some thunder, smashing her right into the turnbuckle! Jason stumbled back, unable to keep standing, but he was able to get over to Colleen to make the pin, only for a danged nearfall. Jason and Colleen both made their way back to their feet, and Jason was the recipient of a really bad punch, hitting him just right, busting his lip open. Upon seeing this, Jason got all "Nelson Munce 'no one makes me bleed my own blood!'" and he slapped the shit out of Colleen before kicking her right in the head! Colleen tumbled out of the ring, and Zachary Valentine was quick to tend to her, but Jason was just off in his own mad world at this point, and he let Zach have a kick to the faec, too! It took Chapel Hillcrest coming around the ring to calm Jason down, and he was able to convince Jason to get back into the ring. Jason stood, waiting for Colleen to get back into the ring, and after a long moment, Colleen got on the apron and re-entered the ring, and just like at the beginning of the match, she marched right up to Jason and blasted him in the head again! But this time, she must've hit the sweet spot because Jason dropped like a sack of wet cement! The punch even seemed to hurt Colleen, as she started holding her arm (I guess she'll think twice before the next time she decks someone that's been trying to tear her arm off, hm?) and she heads to her corner to talk to Zachary Valentine, and she seems to... She seems to be handing something shiny to him... and she dashes back over to Jason Wesley to pin him for the victory!
Jason Wesley (X) vs (O) "The Living Venus" Colleen
22:21, Suspicious Punch... Hmm...
The crowd doesn't seem to like Colleen's victory, and neither does Chapel Hillcrest. But there's not much he can do about it at this point, as Colleen laughs and smiles down at Jason Wesley as Zachary Valentine enters the ring, Colleen saying to Wesley, "Jase, my knuckles have your blood on them! See?" as Zachary Valentine hands Colleen a set of blood-covered brass knuckles! That bitch cheated!
