DamageCast #7
The Trials of Tribulation
Part VII: "The Living Venus" Colleen
Fade into the DamageCast studio, with Visper Karr once again hosting.
[Visper:] Good day(?), ladies and gentlemen. I'm Visper Karr, Miles Bell is on assignment. Welcome to DamageCast issue 7, where we will be taking a look at the challenger for the NDP Championship, "The Living Venus" Colleen. "The Living Venus" has had a long road before her, stretching all the way from the beginning of NDP, straight into Tribulation, where her travels to become NDP Champion will either end, or be forced to take another long detour.
Colleen was one of the first wrestlers signed to New Damage Prowrestling, all the way back in 2003, and has broken out far and beyond perhaps any other wrestler in the promotion. She began wrestling in a group called "Devils/Angels", fighting alongside Roselyn Pride and the first NDP Light-Heavyweight Champion, Kristin Blade. The group was able to carve out a niche, but the three personalities were too different, leading to an explosive break in the group, sending all three on their separate ways. Colleen had the biggest initial break-out of the group, heading into the NDP Championship Tournament and making it to the final round, and at that point, Colleen knew that her destiny was to become NDP Champion, and would do anything necessary to achieve that goal.
At FORSAKEN, Colleen finally earned her first opportunity to become NDP Champion in the Rolling Two-Falls Match, but after defeating Mr. E, Colleen was defeated by Adam Galcian of ARMADA, and Colleen would never get another chance at FORSAKEN. But, in her typical fashion, "The Living Venus" stormed the ring and demanded another chance at becoming NDP Champion in a singles match, and she would as long as she could defeat Adam Galcian. And, since we're talking about Colleen right now, it's obvious that she did!
So, as we're taking a look at Colleen, and some of her greatest triumphs, including this match from January 17, 2004. From the first round of the initial NDP Championship Tournament, this is "Martyr" Colleen Dramesi vs. "Complete" Flip Staley.

"Martyr" Colleen Dramesi
vs.
"Complete" Flip Staley (w/ Aika Masahiko)
Flip tries to start things off with a DDT - not worrying about hitting a girl, like some male NDP Legends have done when encountering an intergender match - but Colleen makes him pay for it with a big ol' spinebuster reversal. She screams an obscenity or two as Flip gets up, and he quickly hits the blonde with a snapmare. Flip whips Colleen to the ropes, goes for a shoulder throw, but Colleen grabs hold of the ropes and kicks Flip in the chest, going for a quick tiger bomb, but Flip reverses the move and flips her over with a big back-body drop. Big elbow drop across the back of Colleen's neck, Colleen gets up and whips him to the turnbuckle, but Flip stops short and spins around, giving her a neck throw. Colleen gets up quickly, nailing a big elbow to the side of Flip's head. Colleen whips Flip to the ropes and gives chase, but Flip nails her with a rolling arm drag, but Colleen nails a body slam as she gets to her feet. Flip hits with a DDT, Colleen with a hip toss, locks Flip in a headlock and starts pounding away at the top of his skull. Flip hauls back and nails a back drop, goes for a quick pin, barely gets a one-count.
Colleen whips Flip to the corner again, gives chase, but Flip gives her a snapmare for her trouble. Flip gives Colleen a vertical suplex, and Colleen lands hard, retreating from the ring for a moment. Flip slides outside, but Colleen starts beating into him with shots to the gut and a clubbing blow across the neck. She slams his head into the apron, points over to Aika and says something, and then rolls Flip back into the ring, getting herself back in afterwards. Flip nails another spinebuster and nails a dropkick against Colleen's back. Flip with a quick roll-up, but again barely gets a one-count.
Flip starts working on Colleen's neck, nailing a forearm to the back of her neck and a couple elbows, again to her neck. Colleen kicks Flip in the gut and goes for a double arm DDT, but Flip, uh... flips her overhead (much like with Colleen's tiger bomb attempt), and sends her over the ropes, landing her hard on her neck on the outside.
[Jr.:] BAH GAWD! What a landing! She keeps that up and she won't live long enough to see the end of this match, let alone the end of this tournament!
Flip follows her outside, hits her with a forearm to Colleen's head, goes for a backdrop, but Colleen stops him with a headlock and hits him with a bulldog. Flip shows her how it's done as he gets a go-behind and introduces her face to the outside with his own bulldog. Flip pulls her to her feet and she hits a roll-up, but quickly breaks it and slides in at the 16-count - having used the roll-up as a delaying tactic in hopes of getting a ring-out - but Flip manages to get back in at 18. Flip hits a couple rights to Colleen's jaw, stopping when Colleen flips him over her hip. Colleen whips Flip to the ropes and knocks him down very hard with a front dropkick. Colleen nails another scoop slam, blocks a right hook and levels Flip with a short clothesline. Colleen applies in a front facelock and pulls Flip into the corner, clubbing him across the neck and applying a camel clutch. She keeps the move locked in for just a moment, giving the downed Flip a stiff kick to the back as she stands back up. Cyclone whip from Colleen, nails Flip with a big vertical suplex, pulls him away with the ropes and makes with the lateral press, hooking the leg; one, two-- flat two!
Flip goes for a quick suplex, but Colleen drops down back behind him. Flip gets back behind her before Colleen's able to take advantage of the situation, and quickly finds herself getting flipped back around and on the receiving end of the Pike Place Cutter - a modified version of her own finishing move! Flip whips Colleen to the ropes and hits her with a back elbow, taking to the ropes and smashing into her with a running sunset flip. Colleen reverses a whip to the ropes, drops down to the floor as Flip runs overhead and hops back up, but Flip knocks her down with a heavy clothesline. Flip goes for a back drop but Colleen manages to flip herself back, land on her feet, and hit Flip with the Blackjack! Colleen rolls Flip up; one, two, t-- just barely two!
Flip gets up, goes for the suplex again, but Colleen again drops down behind him, spins him around, toe kick--
[Jr.:] STU--
[Visper:] STUNNER!! BAH GAWD!!!
[Jr.:] Hey! That's my line!!
[Visper:] No, your line in this situation is something like "BAH GAWD!! SHE'S GONNA PULL IT OFF!! I WAS RIGHT, BAH GAWD!!!"
[Jr.:] Oh. Well, is it too late to say that?
[Visper:] Yes.
[Jr.:] Awww...
Back inside the ring, Colleen wraps Flip's arm across his chest and starts beating him in the face with closed fists, swinging hard.
[Jr.:] COLLEEN IS FIS-
[Visper:] Don't even say it.
[Jr.:] Why won't you let me say anything?
[Visper:] Because in this case, it's disgusting and wrong. Just wrong.
Colleen releases the hold after liberal use of her 5-count, gets to her feet and lays into Flip with kicks to the ribs. Colleen pulls Flip to his feet, pushes him back against the ropes, then whips him across the ring, sending him up-and-over with a front overhead suplex. Colleen taunts Flip before going for the lateral press; one, two, thr-- kickout!!
[Jr.:] Now, you see that? Right there, she could've ended this whole thing, if only she'd covered Flip right off the bat instead of taunting him.
Colleen sneaks in a ground cobra twist roll-up on Flip; one, two, thr-- kickout!
[Visper:] What? Were you saying something there?
Flip whips Colleen to the ropes, follows in, but Colleen hunches over and grabs Flip around the waist, hoisting up and sending him up a couple feet before dropping him down, face-first into the turnbuckle. Colleen flips him over and starts another cruel mounted punch assault, holding it for as long as she is able yet again. Flip, out of desperation, scores a quick series of right uppercuts to Colleen's jaw, then nails a suplex. Big dropkick against Colleen's neck, then drops an elbow across the neck. Colleen responds with an uproot brainbuster and her uproot back drop, Blackjack, hitting it for the second time in this match. Colleen pulls Flip to his feet, but he shoves her off and hits a Manhattan drop, takes to the ropes, but Colleen hits a Lou Thesz press - Jackpot - and holds the shoulders down; one, two, thre-- kickout!!!
Flip and Colleen both stay down, and the ref begins the 10-count. Both manage to get up well before the count is up, and Flip strikes first with a second Pike Place Cutter. Flip takes to the ropes and hits a running sunset flip, then whips Colleen to the ropes. Colleen ducks and avoids the back elbow, bouncing to the other side of the ring, but she still gets snatched up by the spinebuster. Flip pulls her up and hits another Pike Place Cutter! Flip pulls Colleen to her feet again, but she catches him with a surprise roll-up; one, two, thr-- kickout!!
Vertical suplex from Staley, and he follows up with a sunset flip. He waits for Colleen to get to her feet, and nails the Staley Concept! Instead of going for the pin, Flip goes to work on Colleen, hitting neck smashes and facecrushers galore. Colleen shoves Flip off her, nails him with a Manhattan drop, and levels him with a clothesline. She heads up to the top turnbuckle, and nails a landing body press, repositioning herself so that her feet are on the middle rope! One, two, thre-- kickout!!
Flip hits a sideswipe suplex, tosses Colleen out of the ring, and follows her out. Flip with a Samoan drop, and both competitors stay down for a moment. As the ref gets to his 12-count, Flip and Colleen both manage to get to their feet, Flip goes to suplex Colleen, but Colleen flips back down and levels Flip with a lariat to the back of his head, then slides back into the ring at the 15-count. Aika rushes over and helps Flip to his feet, rolling him back into the ring just as the referee is about to count him out!
[Visper:] Well, thank goodness for Aika being there.
[Jr.:] Why? You just don't want Colleen to win this, do you? You're afraid that I might be right about this, aren't you?
[Visper:] Well, it's not that, really. It'd have just been crappy for this match to end with a crappy count-out.
Aika hops onto the apron and Colleen charges, knocking her off the apron and into the guard rail. Flip spins her around, goes for another Staley Concept, but Colleen shoves him off. He turns around, right into a Sin City Stunner!!
[Jr.:] BAH GAWD!!
[Visper:] Dear lord... -hangs head-
Colleen goes for the pin; one, two, three!!!
[Jr.:] HA!! HA-FUCKING-HA!
Colleen Dramesi wins by pinfall
Time: 19.28
[Visper:] Yes, nice, very good. She won one match. She's still got at least four matches left.
[Jr.:] Maybe, but I'm still more accurate than you are!
[Visper:] Just shaddap.
-- Back to the Studio --
[Visper:] Now, as you saw there, Colleen has been on something of a hot-streak in NDP since getting her start. She might not have the best win-loss record, and might not have won the NDP Championship Tournament, but she does keep moving toward that apex of Champion. Defeating the man who would become the first NDP Champion even after some slight interference from Flip's girlfriend, Aika Sugiyama, gave Colleen phenomenal momentum, and she has continued that momentum ever since.
There are some that might not agree with Colleen's tactics, but you can not argue with her results. Colleen has defeated some of the biggest names in the world of professional wrestling, and she wants nothing more than to add "Matt Shane" to that list, and the NDP Championship around her waist, next Sunday, at Tribulation.
With that in mind, we now join Miles Bell, who is preparing to interview "The Living Venus".
Fade out from the DamageCast studio, opening up with Miles standing in front of a door that clearly reads “Colleen.”
[Miles:] Hello, everybody. Miles Bell here, about to interview "The Living Venus" Colleen, who is challenging Matt Shane for the NDP Championship title at Tribulation.
Suddenly the door opens and Colleen steps out along with Zachary Valentine right behind her.
[Miles:] Colleen Drames—
[Colleen:] "Colleen" will be just fine.
[Miles:] What?
[Zachary:] Colleen... doesn’t like it when you address her with her last name. She is a lone wolf, and she stands alone.
[Miles:] Lone wolf? What about you? You’re always--
[Colleen:] Miles! Hurry up and do what you're here to do. I won’t stand here all day listening to you babble on!
[Miles:] Err... Ok... Colleen, your match with Matt Shane, you’ve waited a while for this, but—
[Colleen:] Waited a while?! No, Miles, I’ve waited YEARS for this opportunity! You don’t know what I have had to go through, what I have experienced to make it this far. As a kid, I was looked down at by my entire family, and that same feeling has followed me my entire wrestling career! My whole life has been me being overshadowed by my sister Nicole, but that won’t happen anymore! My time is now, and I will not let this chance slip away from me! I will beat Matt Shane for the NDP Championship!
[Miles:] How do you feel about Matt Shane? Do you think you match up to the NDP Champion?
[Colleen:] While Matt Shane has beaten respectable opponents like Flip Staley, Mr. E, Galcian, Gene Starr, Nicole Dramesi, and Phil Buster, I have done the same. Mr. E, Gene Starr, Flip Staley, Galcian, Nicole Dramesi, I've beaten them, and to top it all off, I’ve even outsmarted and beat BOTH OrochiGeese and Twinky McLanahan! Do you know how TOUGH it is to even get a match against Geese or Twinky?
[Miles:] Uh...
[Colleen:] Don’t you dare interrupt me when I’m talking. Even after I beat Geese and Twinky, I still haven’t been shown the same respect as Matt Shane! Why?! WHY MILES?!
Colleen starts to grab Miles by his shirt and starts shakes him until being held back by Zachary.
[Colleen:] There’s no doubt that Matt Shane is a great competitor, and MAY someday be spoken about with reverence like Twinky McLanahan and Orochi Geese. He has been the NDP Champion since SuperKickFest04, almost three years ago, but this is my time. Matt Shane’s reign will end when he steps into that ring with me at Tribulation. When the night is over, I will become not only the second female heavyweight Champion in professional wrestling history, but I will finally achieve what I have wanted since I was a little girl; I will finally have my place in the world!
[Miles:] You’ve obviously got your heart set on winning this match. What would happen if you lose?
The sudden change on Colleen’s face is unexplainable.
[Colleen:] ...We’re done here.
Colleen storms off.
[Zachary:] Choose your words more carefully next time, Mister Miles.
Zachary leaves going after Colleen leaving Miles standing in front of the camera, confused. Fade back to the DamageCast studio.
[Visper:] Well, there's the story from the horse's mouth, ladies and gentlemen. Colleen, "The Living Venus", is dead set on winning the NDP Championship at Tribulation. We'll be speaking to the NDP Champion, Matt Shane, on the next DamageCast. We'll see you then.
Fade out as the NDP Signature begins to play to the video's end.
