DamageCast #4
The Trials of Tribulation
Part IV: OG-Joshi Feature Match
[Miles:] Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to DamageCast episode 4. We're continuing on the Trials of Tribulation with a special look at a feature match from our friends at OG-Joshi, and we have with us here today the authority of OG-Joshi; General Celes.
Camera pans to Celes.
[Miles:] Greetings, General.
[Celes:] Greetings, Miles.
[Miles:] I understand that you have an announcement regarding the OG-Joshi feature match at Tribulation. It was originally scheduled to be a triple threat match between Yoyo Banzai, Lana, and NDP's own Visper Karr.
[Celes:] That was the match when NDP and I negotiated our arrangement. However, since then, things have changed in OG-Joshi and Visper Karr is no longer at odds with Yoyo Banzai or Lana. Rather, Visper has been in the midst of a heated "Best of Seven" series against former OG-Joshi World Champion, Haley Cannon. And after their match at this past weekend's Voltage, Haley now holds a three to two advantage.
[Miles:] Yeesh, that's a rough spot for Visper.
[Celes:] Yes, and as such, she will have to devote ALL her energy and attention to evening this series since one more loss means Haley is the victor. So in light of this development and because both Yoyo Banzai and Lana are each currently involved in other matters, I have spoken with NDP and we are cancelling the planned triple threat match...
[Miles:] *disappointed* awwww...
[Celes:] But we are replacing it with the next match in the series between Visper and Haley.
[Miles:] So you are allowing NDP to showcase the sixth, and perhaps final, match in this great series that OG-Joshi has put so much time into?
[Celes:] I have every confidence that Tribulation is going to be a major event for NDP and the wrestling world, in general. As it is, we already have our current OG-Joshi World Champion in a match against another woman who is a top contender for the OG-Joshi Tag Titles. But to further contribute to the card and thank NDP for featuring one of our matches, we have decided to showcase Visper vs. Haley at Tribulation. And, as with all of their previous matches, I will be the referee to ensure impartiality and that no interested parties...such as Holly... interferes in this important match that very well may decide the next #1 Contender to the OG-Joshi World Championship..
[Miles:} Wow, that is quite an announcement!
[Celes:] If Visper is able to win, the final match in the series will take place at the OG-FPD 4 Year Anniversary Show on December 13th. But as both women must know by now, neither can afford to look to that date and beyond their match at Tribulation. As it is, Visper will have to recover from a tough assault on her leg. I wish them both luck and thank NDP once again for the honor of showcasing this match.
[Miles:] There you have it, folks, Tribulation will play host to the sixth and perhaps final match in the Best of Seven series between Visper Karr and Haley Cannon!
[Celes:] I know that at the last Maelstrom, the NDP crowd was introduced to Visper Karr's in-ring ability, but to go along with the format of your DamageCasts, I've brought along a special gift; a match of Visper Karr from the OG-Joshi Pay-Per-View "Unleashed", where she faced off against Yoyo Banzai. This match truly shows off what Visper Karr is capable of in the ring, and would serve as a good primer for her leading into the match at Tribulation.
[Miles:] Well, that's great! Let's check that out, then!
-- From OG-Joshi Unleashed --
[Mr. Clyde:] Can we just start talking about the match.
[Mr. Figaro:] You heard what visper said! She's gonna be kicking Yoyo's face with the FINEST LEGS IN THE WORLD!! In fact, one of Visper's legs SINGLE HANDLEDY LIFTED UP ANDREA THE GIANT 20,000 feet in the air at..um, Emergemania 3 in front of one gazillion fans!! I was there, Clyde, I was THERE!! Really, Clyde, what more is there to say after what we just heard from visper and the Mean one!?
[Mr. Clyde:] I believe we have more to convey.
[Mr. Figaro:] FINE! The scrumptious Visper Karr is facing off with YOYO BANZAIIIIIIIII!"
[Mr. Clyde:] Do you get paid extra for "I's"?
[Mr. Figaro:] IIIIIII should!
[Mr. Clyde:] Visper Karr is more then just a pretty girl, she is also one of the fastest rising Joshi stars in OG-Joshi and all of women's wrestling. She is the current McPro "Globally Honored Pants" Champion as well as the last remaining wrestler in the OG-Joshi #1 Contenders Battle Royale back in May. Holly ended up winning that match to get her Title shot tonight, but she was tested very strongly by Visper Karr who outlasted some of OG-Joshi's best that night.
[Mr. Figaro:] And the kicker...no pun intended as Visper Karr has quite the kicking reputation! But the kicker was that Visper was INJURED the night of the Battle Royale, seriously injured! And yet she almost won it with that injury!! Had she not been injured, who knows what kind of fight she would have given Holly!
[Mr. Clyde:] Visper Karr is a star on the rise but so is Yoyo Banzai. Yoyo won a big match against her rival Azumi Oonishi at the OG-Joshi: Emergence PPV and has been a strong force in many tag team matches she has been in. She recently was instrumental in her team, with Kaori NiGHT, in BEATING Visper Karr and Jenny McLanahan on a recent Voltage. So Yoyo does hold a tag team victory over Visper Karr. And while Kaori got the pin, it was equally due to Yoyo's actions in that match.
[Mr. Figaro:] But it is now time for them to go one on one. And can the "Crazy F*ckin" Yoyo Banzai, I love that nickname, go up against the woman with kicks feared enough to earn her the nickname in McPro, "Visper Karr Cop"? Someone with THAT name...damn...she gonna KTFO you!
[Mr. Clyde:] But Yoyo Banzai has proven to be a very crafty competitor. She has gotten her opponents off their games with her mental tactics and shenanigans.
[Mr. Figaro:] SHENANIGANS!
[Mr. Clyde:] The question here is whether or not Yoyo's mind games have gotten to Visper Karr. And you have to know that each woman has in mind what General Celes has said about each of them. How both of them have risen in the ranks of OG-Joshi at the same pace, but that the winner of this match will likely move onto very big things quicker then the other one will. Who ever wins this match will be seen as taking a huge step into the next level of competition here in OG-Joshi. While the loser will have to really strive hard to get there and catch up.
[Mr. Figaro:] Btw...Visper Karr is really really freaking hot. It's kind of mind boggling actually. However I have to root for her to lose just out of loyalty to Patty Sirloin!
[Mr. Clyde:] Your allegiance is noted, thank you. Now let's get to this important match.
[Click here for the actual video of the Visper/Yoyo match or check out this new write-up version of it!]
The two women circle around each other, tentative of getting so close given each one's proficiency at striking. Finally Visper sneers and rushed to Visper but is met with a piercing chop. Yoyo responds with a punch to the face but gets chopped once again. Yoyo grabs Visper and irish whips her into the corner, where she climbs the turnbuckle and begins unloading with punches on Visper's head. Yoyo drops down and Visper staggers out dazed, allowing Visper to grab her for a dragon screw. She connects and then begins punishing Visper's legs with spinning toe holds and stomps. It's clear she is trying to take away, or at least weaken, Visper's main offensive weapon.
But Visper is not to be stopped so early and easily and fights back with a punishing onslaught of chops, causing Yoyo's chest to flare up immediately with red splotches! Visper then takes the fight to the ground, where she has an advantage, with an amateur takedown followed by a quick armdrag. But Yoyo is able to move right in, quicker then Visper can turn, to hit a swinging neck breaker on Visper! Yoyo hits another one and apparently has found a secondary offensive target, that of Visper's neck. Everytime Visper fights back, Yoyo takes her legs out first before going back to her neck. She is taking control here and even manages to land a huge roundhouse kick to an unsuspecting Visper, shocking the crowd. But she doesn't go for the cover.
Rather, she wants to continue the assault. This proves to be a mistake as, when she attempts an irish whip, Visper reverses her and hits a huge bulldog!! They both get up slowly but Yoyo still has the advantage here. Until she tries another irish whip and is once again reversed, this time being pounded with a dropkick! Before Visper can rally too much, Visper grabs her for a neckbreaker. Yoyo thinks she has regained control but as it looks like she is about to showboat, Visper grabs her takes her down HARD to the ground with a judo tackle which she immediately turns into a side chinlock! The crowd loves the maneuver and is calling out her name! Looking to take advantage of the momentum, and wanting to avoid a 10 minute chinlocks (a lesson that is smart for many in this industry to learn), Visper picks Yoyo up and begins punishing her with more brutal chops. These chops are so hard that you can hear the smacking noise from the back, and Yoyo is being thrown back with each one! Visper roars and lets out a final one but Yoyo hits a front knee joint kick, sending Visper down painfuly. Yoyo picks her up and then connects with a powerful front jump neckbreaker, but only gets a two count. She looks frustrated and goes to the top...what's this!? The Cancun Tornado! Yoyo's finisher!! She usually only goes to this as when her opponent is tired enough to stay down! But with Visper's leg injured, Yoyo must have confidence that she can hit it. And she connects!! 1..2...2.9! Visper has kicked out of Yoyo's finisher and Yoyo is steaming mad!!
Yoyo picks Visper up again and nails her with another roundhouse kick. A quick cover, but only a 2. And its obvious Yoyo's frustration is driving her insane at this point. Because after hitting a brutal kick combo that could have resulted in a victory had she went for the pin, Yoyo instead mounts Visper and smashes her with headbutts. The ref finally pulls her off but is pushed away by Yoyo. She tries to grab Visper again but is smacked in the stomach with a solebutt! Yoyo doubles over from the pain and Visper grabs her arms...double arm suplex! What a sequence that was by Visper! Yoyo rolls with the momentum and rushes Visper again, only to be once again kicked in the stomach and put in a double arm suplex! And Visper has another burst of momentum! Yoyo attempts an impact straight punch but Visper dodges to the side and then hoists her up into a backdrop. Before Yoyo can get up, Visper begins running the ropes...
RUNNING FACE KICKKU!!!!!
Visper just knocked Yoyo out with it!! Yoyo is on the ground, motionless as Visper rubs her own leg. The ref has come over and declared this match over, Visper Karr has won!!
Visper Karr (O) ["Running Face Kick - 9:50] (X) Yoyo Banzai
[Mr. Figaro:] WOW...Visper Karr Cop has struck again!
[Mr. Clyde:] Visper Karr just knocked out Yoyo Banzai with Visper's running face kick finisher.
[Mr. Figaro:] That was a short but VERY intense match!
[Mr. Clyde:] In fact, earlier on in the match, it appeared as if Yoyo Banzai would claim victory. She had Visper reeling at one point, even picking up a few 2.9 counts. But that seemed to only MOTIVATE Visper who turned the match completely around to HER favor, before ending it with that brutal knockout kick.
[Mr. Figaro:] What was also interesting is the fact that Yoyo did not really have the mental advantage in this match.
[Mr. Clyde:] Visper Karr did not let Yoyo's mind games get to her. And I think that might have been one of the keys to victory for Visper. Even when Yoyo was bringing a solid attack, Visper stayed calm.
[Mr. Figaro:] Even when Yoyo was headbutting Visper, Visper stayed calm and looked for that opening...hell, Visper didn't just look for an opening, she MADE one with her kicks, takedowns, and throws.
[Mr. Clyde:] And Visper Karr picked up a very convincing victory tonight with her comeback and knockout. She did exactly what she said she would do during her earlier interview, kicked some face.
[Mr. Figaro:] Wow, Clyde...at this rate, we should have called the PPV, "OG-Joshi: Unconscious" after the last two matches!! Juli and Yoyo Banzai got KTFO'd by two of the most vicious kickers in OG-Joshi, Alicia Gordon and Visper Karr!
[Mr. Clyde:] OG-Joshi has some excellent strikers, there is no doubt about that. And tonight has belonged to both of them so far. We'll see who else can claim this show as a major rising point in their OG-Joshi careers.
[Mr. Figaro:] With hot chicks like Visper coming out to the ring and rolling around, I've been steadily rising the whole night!
[Mr. Clyde:] At a rate equally in opposition to my level of patience, i might add.
-- Back to the Studio --
[Miles:] An amazing and brutal kick from Visper Karr ended that match against Yoyo Banzai, but will it be enough to get the pin from Haley Cannon, giving Visper Karr one last shot at winning the Best of Seven series? The only way to find out will be to catch Tribulation! And a special thanks to General Celes and Orochi Geese for not only allowing us to make this huge announcement on our DamageCast, but also for the match!
The next DamageCast will be highlighting the combatants involved in our main event, where Matt Shane will be defending the NDP Championship against the "Living Venus", Colleen. We'll see you then!
Fade out as the NDP Signature plays to the end.
